These are some of the names we know.
On average 5,000 women are killed every year.
DIShonour killings must STOP.
There is no honor in Honor Killing only psychotic men too base to have any honor.
You are so right, Abufares. Thank you for your excellent piece on the topic: http://www.abufares.net/2010/10/no-honor-in-honor-killing.html.
Thank you Isobel. The list is sobering.
I wish we knew the names of more than two in Jordan.
It is sobering, Kinzi. I hope you’ll add the name of the two Jordanians here. It was actually very frustrating trying to compile the names. Any sort of lists are hard to find, and when you do there are only a few names. Hard to take when you know that 5,000 women have died per year.

Wow! That’s an incredibly long list. As I commented on Abufares’ blog post, may God give peace to their souls.
It is long isn’t it, but it doesn’t even begin to represent the true number of deaths. Very sad. Thanks, Gabriela, for your comment.
Abeer, sixteen years old, Jordan
Madina Ammari, 26 years old, Jordan, killed by her husband who tried to falsely claim it a crime of honor. His family disowned him, he is awaiting trial.
Thank you, Kinzi, so much.
Then there is this tragedy in Kingston:

Four killed in one event by their family members. Why? Because the “Girls lived as ‘Canadian teenagers’”.
