Remember a few years ago it was a big thing to know what people had on their iPods? Well, I just found a new blog I enjoy reading. It’s called “Words of Wisdom”. His latest post is a listing of the first 16 songs he listened to when he set his mp3 player to shuffle. I thought – Oh, what fun! I think I’ll try it! And because I found a complete stranger’s list interesting, I thought there might be a remote possibility that someone might find mine interesting. I am, however, going a little further and being a little more annoying. I’m going to tag a bunch of people to do the same thing. OH NO!! TAGS! Ha ha – gotcha!! Naturally you must list them on your blogs for all to see, so start listening! And no, there is no political, environmental, or humanitarian benefit to doing this. The only positive benefit is social and possibly psychological. Apparently you can learn a lot about a person looking at their list. Good luck with mine. *wicked laugh* Have fun folks.
I tag: Gabriela, Karin, Paul, Kinzi, Fantasia, Abufares, Ana Sourie, Omar, Kinan, and Sabenindam. If there are any readers who don’t have a blog and want to post their list in the comment section, please feel free. I’d love to see it!
So, em, here’s my list:
Heart – All I Want to Do (is to Make Love to You)
Backstreet Boys – Drowning
Captain Hollywood Project – More and More
The Cult – In the Clouds
Styx – Mr. Roboto
Youssef Boutros – Ahbabena Ya Ain
Loreena McKennitt – Prologue
Chris de Burgh – Sailing Away
Kiss – I Was Made for Loving You
Depeche Mode – Hole to Feed
Prince – When Doves Cry
Loreena McKennitt – The Highwayman
Toni Braxton – You’re Making me High
Ella Fitzgerald – Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer (left over from Christmastime)
Luigi Tenco – Vedrai Vedrai
Elissa – Ana Bastaghrab A’leeh
Can’t wait to see yours.
Thank you Isobel for the tag!!!
I found your list most interesting especially so since we share several titles in our libraries.
I was surprised to find Luigi Tenco – Vedrai Vedrai on your list. Its’ a very sad song but remains one of my favorites of all times. The Italian lyrics are haunting. His life, like that of his wife for one night, the Egyptian/Italian singer Dalida ended tragically. She discovered his body and the suicide note in the morning. 20 years later, it was Dalida’s turn to take her own life.
Vedrai Vedrai… I will, I will
respond to your tag today.
Oh, good, Abufares! I’m glad you’ll play along! That song by Luigi Tenco, I forgot I had…actually half the stuff I forget is on my iPod until I throw on the random shuffle. Which is fun to do once in a while. It is a very nice song. In fact, I have an entire album of Italian songs, folk songs really, which is just wonderful. Hmmm…suddenly I got the urge to go to an Italian restaurant…well, Italy really…but the best I can do for now is Ottawa’s Little Italy.
Thanks for the tag! It was a surprise. I was surprised enough when I notice AbuFares and you had posts with the same title.
I’ll start making my list.
Well, Gabriela, I hope you’ll join in!
I just looked at Abufare’s post…I guess he copied my title, since I tagged him, and I copied the title from the guy at Words of Wisdom.
It’s contagious! lol! Feel free to use the title too!!
Wow, you have some very diverse tastes in music!
Thanks for linking to my blog. I’m looking forward to reading more of yours.
Hi Matt! Thanks for dropping by. Yes, I have the worst time answering the question, what’s your favourite kind of music, or who’s your favourite singer? lol! You just can’t peg me…except maybe to say “eclectic”.
Done!
I would definitely enjoy listening to a few song on your list..
how can you go wrong with Mr. Roboto?
Woo hoo! Thanks, Omar! I’ll go see your list. Yes, Mr. Roboto…classics from the PAAAAAST!!
Isobel, wow, I seem to be a day late and dollar short these days!
Truth be told, I don’t have an ipod or MP3 player…but I will make up what my playlist WOULD be if my kids would just share.
You know, Kinzi, I should not have assumed that everyone had an mp3 player. So, yes, I love your idea…make it up…or list your 16 favourite songs of all time (that would be so hard for me). Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Oh … This is a pleasure! I have no idea what will happen since I have 5 workout albums and thousands of songs on my ipod … this should be interesting – never used the shuffle capability!
Since my blog isn’t a blog … do I do this as a story? hmmmm
I see you said that those that don’t have blogs could post here so if that’s ok here goes:
1. Ca M’enerve – Helmut fritz
2. Gotta be Somebody – Nickelback
3. Sexy bitch – David Guetta
4. Body Body – Massari
5. Runnin – Doman & Gooding
6. Silencia – Nelly Furtado and Josh Groban
7. Yalla Habibi – Karl Wolf
8. Sleeping with a Broken heart – Alicia Keys
9. Telephone – Lady Gaga and Beyonce
10. Lips of an Angel – Hinder
11. Heaven Coming Down – Tea Party
12. Untouched – The Veronicas
13. Is This Never Again – The Midway States
14. Objection (Tango) – Shakira
15. Photographs – Rihanna
16. I Gotta Feeling – Black Eyed Peas
Oh…fantastic, Fantasia! Thanks! Like your selection…know a lot of it and have very similar ones on my iPod…they just didn’t show up in the shuffle. lol! It would have been a challenge to put all that in a story, so perhaps this was a better option.
Dear Isobel:
Done. You can see my random play here:
